Business
planning is tough and time consuming… though well worth it.

I thought
back on my own experience… When I started a business in 2001 I did not have a
thorough plan and I came into business as a franchisee and thought the franchisor
largely looked after these matters… I was naïve as they only helped out so much
and guide you. Please do not think a franchise fee pays for and includes your
business planning.

Ideally you
have a business plan from the start that evolves from changes in your business,
market conditions and other factors. Business owners are busy and time poor and
too many do not prioritise time to sit down and make a business plan. A
business ongoing is a massive financial, time and emotional and investment; if
you are going to expend energy for many years on your business I encourage some
energy at the start for planning.

The initial
business plan does not have to be massive or a perfect plan to start with… it
never will be perfect, work on it and it will evolve.

Your well
considered business plan is the base and foundation of your business that can
provide your happiness and wealth.
