I started doing yoga a few years ago for body maintenance so I could continue to do other sports and maintain some flexibility! I now do hot yoga about once a week at Hom Yoga for the original reasoning, as a detox, de-stress and as a physical work out in itself; the hot room and challenging poses and pace gets the heart rate going.

When I saw this retreat advertised which fitted in with my plans of a mid winter, warm break I jumped onto it and signed up.  It was a structured though relaxed program with 4-6 hours of yoga and meditation a day and sociable meals with the group. The raw whole food diet mentored by Fiona Wissink took provided great benefits and it will influence my diet ongoing. Christina Salazar’s leading of meditation sessions and teaching of it was invaluable! I will incorporate into my life sustainably!

I only sneaked out of the retreat once on a moped to the pub to watch the Waratahs win the Super Rugby Final. I crashed the moped on the way and I did not have a beer at all, I swear!
